By some measures, Luis Miguel is the most successful Latin music artist in the U.S. He is the only such artist to have two platinum Spanish-language albums ("Romance" and "Segundo Romance"), and his most recent album, "Luis Miguel," achieved gold or platinum certifications in four countries (including the U.S.) within three days of its release. Luis Miguel's 1999-2000 Amarte Es un Placer Tour, which took him through eight countries, was at the time the highest-grossing tour by a Latin music artist. Luis Miguel broke his own record with his Mexico En La Piel Tour in 2005-2007.
