Music has been a lifelong career for Neil Sedaka. At the age of 13, while playing the piano at a hotel resort in the Catskill Mountains, Sedaka was approached to write songs with 16-year-old Howard Greenfield, who wrote poetry. In 1952, the two began to write more than 500 songs in a partnership that lasted into the 1980s.
When Sedaka's singing career slowed down, he continued writing hits for other artists over the next 10 years, including "Working on a Groovy Thing" for the Fifth Dimension, "Puppet Man" for Tom Jones and "Is This the Way to Amarillo" for Tony Christie.
In 1972, Sedaka relaunched his solo career. "Laughter in the Rain" topped the charts in 1975 and that same year, Captain & Tennille took Sedaka's "Love Will Keep Us Together" to the No. 1 spot.
Today, Sedaka continues to tour regularly to the delight of his fans.
