Pin Up

pinup 3

The 2011 Playboy Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair headlines this theatrical throwback. She guides guests through the 12 months of pin-ups, pausing to let the show's five stellar dancers and slammin' six-piece swing band play out seasonal vignettes.

Sexy-sweet costumes styled after Rosie the Riveter, '60s beachwear and other images of Americana help the dancers paint pictures of each decade of the pin-ups' reign. Sinclair's radiant gowns and sequined leotards make a splash. Sinclair shows off her world-famous curves, leaving little to the imagination.

The starlet is not completely topless, but wears custom-made pasties adorned with about 100 Swarovski crystals.

As Sinclair explains during the show, classic pin-up girls were "flirty without being dirty."

The show, she said, "you could call it flirty, and now just a little dirty.”

One of the show's most delightful scenes, Sinclair, in a demure nightie, plays hide-and-seek with an enchanted pillow. In another, drummer Brian Czach leaves his drum set to play on the miced platform where dancer Sarah Short taps. He makes his way into the audience to tap on tables and glasses.

A singer performs standards and contemporary hits, and scene changes are set to original music that Stratosphere headliner Frankie Moreno wrote for "Pin Up."

From January to December, this show is a playful tour through glamorous days gone by. It's more than a little classy and a lot clever.
